The trail

Accessibility statement

This statement applies to the Ipswich Trail Makers website (ipswichtrailmakers.co.uk), part of the Wolsey 550 PlaceChangers project. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website and walk the trail.

What you should be able to do

  • Read all text with good colour contrast, including outdoors in bright light.
  • Zoom in up to 400% without the content spilling off the screen.
  • Navigate every page using a keyboard or screen reader.
  • Use the site on a phone of any size, in portrait or landscape.
  • Play every film with a tap — nothing plays sound automatically.

How accessible this website is

We believe this website is fully compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We know of the following limitations:

  • The films created by pupils do not yet have captions or transcripts. We are working on adding written versions of each script.
  • The trail map is a detailed illustrated image; the same location information is also given in text on each character's page.
  • The QR code scanner needs a device with a camera. Every character can also be reached from the trail list without scanning.

Feedback and contact

If you find any problems not listed here, or you need information in a different format (such as large print, easy read or audio), please contact Hannah Houghton, Accessibility Lead for the Wolsey 550 PlaceChangers project, at Hannah@wolsey550.co.uk. We'll consider your request and get back to you within 10 working days.

Enforcement

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018. If you're not happy with how we respond to a complaint, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
